Another down day

Another down day in Stevens pass. Looks like we arn’t going to be able to shoot here because of the weather so we are off to Keystone on monday.

Played putt putt today to pass the time. Was super fun.

Photo’s

As promised here is some photo’s from my trip.

Sitting in Stockholm

Flying in over Frankfurt

Laura just woke up

Laura and I

So yesterday and today the weather here has been pretty shit. Yesterday we went bowling and played some golf to pass the time. Today I’m not sure what we will do, maybe golf, maybe bowling or maybe just the internet.

Computer party

A flight with Wireless

As I write this post I am sitting in seat 33B on my flight to L.A. I never knew that you were able to get on wireless internet during flights so this comes as a big suprise to me. It is definitely helping pass the time. I will be in seattle tonight so hopefully if I have internet I will do a post about the travels from stockholm to Seattle with pictures.

In transit

I am currently sitting in New York at an airport hotel. Spent the night here last night and this morning I am hopping on another flight over to seattle.

The flight over was pretty mellow but we did experience a few patches of turbulance. What I was most stoked on was the fact that both my bags weren’t over wieght (though I was going to have to pay a lot of excess)

Stay tuned for an update from Stevens pass.

Stockholm-JFK

Packed my bags and I’m ready to go. Laura and I are finally leaving Stockholm and are on route to New York City.We have a stop over there and then both laura and I jump on separate flights as Laura is on her way back to Australia and Im on my way to film with MSP.

Check this video out. Made me laugh. I love the guys goggles at 0:26. What do they look like?

(Dhanu ”danger” Sherpa takes credit for this find)

Camera

Basically occupied myself by taking photo’s today. Let me know what you think. Still figuring out the settings on the camera so some of the shots might not be the best.

Alice in Wonderland

Just got done watching Alice in Wonderland. I have to be honest I was a little nervous walking into the cinema because this movie gave me nightmares when I was younger. But once it was over and I was actually stoked on it. This might have had something to do with it being in 3D.

Stockholm

So for those of you who don’t know. Im stuck in stockholm until next monday. I really wish I could be in the states filming but on the other hand I could also be stuck in worse places. Today a lot of the guys finally were able to fly out of sweden. So that ment that last night everyone was ready to party. Here are some shots:

Shay ready to fight

Shay is disgusted

Shay is disgusted

Nate, jossi and shay (All 3 are really good at partying)

Balmer was on fire last night

The party went for quite a while last night so needless to say laura and I spent most of the day in bed sleeping. When we did venture out, I decided I would take my new toy (canon powershot s90) for a spin. The manual settings are pretty confusing but if I practise enough I think I’ll pick it up.

Im going to have a lot of fun over the next few weeks taking photos and learning about my camera.

JOSS edit 2010 team down under

Enjoy:

Are – Stockholm

Probably one of the most annouying trips I have done. Got on the train in Are at about 7.30pm and was on that until a town called Sundvall. We had to change from the train to a buss at 12.30am.

Turns out the bus station and the train station are in two different locations and it took us a good 15min walk with all our luggage to the bus station. Then the bus, which supposedly doesnt go by the train station, pulled in to drop someone off at the train station we were at. Such a drain.

Anyway, we have made it to stockholm but are unsure of when we can fly out. We were ment to fly today but our flights were cancelled. Hopefully we can leave soon as I need to get over to the states to do some filming ASAP.

P.S laura booked a hotel room on a yacht. Pretty sick. Check out where we are staying:

Team Canada Wins JOSS

Joss is done and dusted and team canada won. Team down under got tied last which kind of sucks but I would love to know what you guys think about the edit. Stay tuned for the edit to drop.

JOSS Awards

Not much happened today as everyone once again was pretty hung over from partying. Last night was the team canada party which I have to say was super fun and those guys killed it.

The highlight of today was doing a poster signing in town in a blizzard haha. It was cool to see how stoked all the kids were.

Jossi signing posters

Then Dhanu and Jossi found a shop that sold contacts. Both got some pretty wierd ones.

Joss awards are tonight so I am pretty excited to see all the edits and to see how people take ours.

Going to be a big night

Russ

ROCKKER PARTY

So once again the rock party has come and gone. It was an epic party. The night started with everyone getting dressed up in the sickest rock gear they have. Then proceeding to put eyeliner and eye shadow on.

Drawing tats and getting ready

Laura and I about to go ROCK

Joss day 7

Probably one of the longest days skiing I have ever had. We started sessioning the step over kicker at about 11.30 or 12 and then moved down to the JOI kicker and finished jumping at about 7.30 or 8.

Checking out shot’s

Some crazy stuff went down on the step over kicker. Justin dorey and Henrick Harlaut both did kangaroo 10’s, Alex Schlopy did dub 14, Tom Wallish and LJ strenio did switch right dub 10’s and both Andreas Hatveit and myself did right side dub cork 12’s.

Me, Mid  dub 12

Follow cam of switch 3 blunt

Going to rest now. Probably have another huge day of skiing tomorrow.

Joss day 6

Mother nature finally came to the party here in sweden and gave us a nice blue bird afternoon. We were finally able to session the step over jump at the top of the mounatin. It is super sick although due to the lack of snow they werent able to build the landing as wide as most riders would of liked it. I still had an awesome time and think that some sick shit is going to happen on it.

Jossi gettin some

Unfortunatley Jossi’s and Dhanu’s sessions were cut short. Both have hurt their shoulders and were unable to keep skiing. Lets hope they are ok because I dont want to be a lone soldier for team down under.

Dhanu  before he hurt his shoulder

Me shredding

Going to grab some food now and then probably party again. Should be good times.

Parties

So since there has been a lack of skiing due to the weather, there has obviously been a boost in parties. Here are some happy snaps from the last few parties we have been to:

pk, Jossi and I

Laura and Jossi

The crew getting drinks

Jossi dancing up a storm

Josh Knox is to cool for the camera

Dhanu and I killing the dance floor

Our filmer Jake. Probably the best photo of the night.

Looks like the weather is clearing and Jon has announced a possible session on the step over jump on the top of the mountain. Hopefully we can jump and start getting some footage.

Cheers

Russ

JOSS day 4/5

So due to bad weather not much has been happening here in Sweden. Tomorrow the weather is ment to clear up so hopefully we will get a kicker session or something happening.

Stay tuned

Russ

JOSS day 2/3

Sorry for not posting last night, I was working on some stuff for the edit. Anyway yesterday, as most of you know already from the various other updates from other bloggers and websites, we hit the JOI jump.

Not quite what I expected but I still had a fair bit of fun. First hit for me sucked though as I came up short and hurt my knee, but after that I did a few tricks so I hope the shots worked.

Jossi Switch 5

Mid double cork 10

Today there was a scheduled hip and rail garden session but the light didnt work in our favour and tomorrow the weather is ment to be bad. Team down under is going to try get some shots tonight and then possibly party.

Russ

first day of JOSS

Just got done with the first day of JOSS and im pumped. Today Jon scheduled a session on the hip and in the redbull rail garden. First off was the rail garden.  Jon decided to build a long box which in my opinion is pretty sick but for some reason it hated me. I probably hiked it like 50 times to get one trick. So so frustrating.

Dhanu ”Danger” Sherpa slidding up a storm

After the rail session we proceeded to session the hip. It was super scary but super fun at the same time because it was so intimidating.

Laura has got a little better at photography

Crusing to have some dinner now and to find out about tomorrows plan.

Russ

Sweden

Hey guys,

Sorry for the lack of posting, I have not had access to the internet the past few days. Basically I have been chilling at Jacob’s and skiing the park in Are. Its been warm, slushy and super fun.

Tomorrow is the first day of JOSS.

Stay tuned for some action of the hip.

Russ.

Frostgun Big Air

So after spending the last few days debating about weather and if the comp could run today, it luckily did. Which means I dont have to screw around changing flights.

Training for me was super shit. I did a straight air and knuckled so I went 5m higher. Then I did a cork 7 and knuckled so I went another 5 meters higher and tried a cork 7 again and knuckled. So I decided to stop practising and I was contemplating pulling out. Then when they annouced we had one last run I decided I would try a dub 10 just to see if it was possible because I wanted to compete.

Some how I landed the dub 10 and rode away so I then decided I would compete. Qualification was just 2 runs best run counts. I ended up winning qualification with a dub 10.

Then top 8 advanced to a head to head knockout format. It was kind of nerve racking because you only got one chance. I somehow managed to make it to the top 2 spot. I was standing at the top and Loic Callom Batton dropped and did a huge dub cork 12. It was up to me and I only had one attempt. Needless to say I was pretty nervous. I dropped and and did a dub 10 double mute. I stomped it and rode away super stoked. I ended up winning the event so Im pumped.

Warm up 720

The top 8

The mandatory crowd champagne spay

Got to run as I need to pack my bags because I am leaving at 6am tomorrow morning to fly to sweden to chill with Jacob and Sofia. Can’t wait to do some skiing in Sweden.

Russ

Another day in Val Thorens

I was ment to check the jump today but because the weather was once agin shit we just did some penguin slides and had a tramp session. Check it out:
